Learn to use hand planes, scrapers and spokeshaves in this single session of our Hand Tool Academy series. You'll learn about the many varieties of these tools and their uses; top techniques for shaping and sizing boards, smoothing woods with difficult grain, shaping rounded features, and tuning up your tools. If you have your own planes, scrapers or spokeshaves, please bring them.
About the series
Our complete Hand Tool Academy series teaches fundamental techniques for traditional woodworking with hand saws, planes, chisels, scrapers, spokeshaves and more. These classes serve as the prerequisite for our Hand Tool Joinery classes.
