Learn about using dados and rabbets in your projects to provide strong support for elements like shelves and backing.
What's the difference? A dado is a U-shaped, square-bottomed channel cut across the grain (if it goes with the grain, it's a groove). This common joint can be used to support shelves on a bookcase or cut vertically to hold partitions.
A rabbet is an L-shaped channel cut on the edge of your workpiece. You'll find it used primarily to hold the backboard of a cabinet or other casework, or to accommodate the glass on a picture frame.
Single class tuition: $90
Single class materials fee: $15
